Richard’s students can be seen on Broadway and on National Tours including Anastasia, Pretty Woman: The Musical, & Escape to Margaritaville. Additionally, his students have appeared with LA Opera, Universal Studios Florida, Houston Grand Opera, The Royal Theatre at Versailles (France), Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, Theatre Aspen, Syracuse Stage, Cortland Repertory Theater, The Globe Theatre (London), Bucks County Playhouse, on Television with CBS Studios and also the CW Network (Legacies), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, New York Theater Festival’s Summerfest, The REV Theatre, The Glimmerglass Festival, among others.

Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Voice

Music Director – Theatre UCF

Richard Crawley is Assistant Professor of Musical Theater Voice, as well as the Music Director for Theatre UCF at the University of Central Florida. Before joining UCF, he was on the faculty of the Department of Drama at Syracuse University, where he honed his pedagogy to serve the needs of the modern musical theatre artist — from golden age musicals and operetta to contemporary musical theater, pop & rock styles. During his time at Syracuse University, he taught private voice, studio classes, music theory, ear training, sight-singing, score analysis & Musical Theater Performance (Acting the Song), and music directed several projects. Richard is committed to the concept of cross training all vocalists. He previously served on the faculties of the Setnor School of Music, Loyola College in Baltimore, the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival in Alaska, and Binghamton University. Richard enjoys giving master classes for professionals, college level artists and secondary school programs whenever he can.
