Richard Crawley – Baritone

Baritone Richard Crawley is an artist who commands any stage—from the largest concert hall to the most intimate setting—captivating audiences with his passionate singing and nuanced dramatic presence. After successfully transitioning from a heroic tenor to a commanding Verdi baritone, Mr. Crawley's career continues to flourish.

His 2025-26 season promises dramatic intensity, featuring the title role in Verdi’s Macbeth (Opera Tampa), Father Palmer in Silent Night (Opera Orlando), and performances as the Baritone soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mr. Crawley's distinguished career has taken him to premier opera and musical theater stages worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), Staatstheater Stuttgart, and the Greek National Opera. As an orchestral soloist, he has appeared with the Tokyo Oratorio Society, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphony, and at major venues such as Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.

Recent critical successes include the leading role of Solomon Schecter in Arnold Saltzman’s full-length opera, Geniza: Hidden Fragments, in Washington, D.C., and a memorable turn as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center in Orlando.

Beyond the stage, Richard is an esteemed educator, serving as Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Voice and Faculty Music Director for Theatre UCF at the University of Central Florida. He specializes in vocal cross-training, teaching a wide range of styles from classical and musical theater to CCM (pop, rock, and jazz).
